The “Mysore” style of Ashtanga is the ultimate in discovering and nurturing your own personal practice and moving at a pace that is right for you and your own individual needs. The teacher is there to help you, however you go through the sequence on your own and as you become more accomplished the teacher will add postures to your set sequence. Depending on your level or your schedule, your mysore practice could be 30 minutes to 2 hours long. The Mysore room is generally open for 2 hours and you can drop in whatever suits the length of your practice.
Restorative Yoga is a state of being rather than doing. Taking time out each day to relax and renew is essential in your overall health. Restorative Yoga helps relieve the effects of chronic stress in the body. Props (Bolsters, Blocks, Blankets, etc.) are used to provide a completely supportive environment for total relaxation. Each sequence is designed to move the spine in all directions. You are only as old as your spine is healthy & supple. Restorative Yoga can be experienced as too gentle for some. However, do not underestimate the power of the practice. Those that steer away from it are probably the ones needing it most. Relax and Renew with Restorative Yoga.
Vinyasa Yoga is a dynamic flowing yoga practice. Vinyasa literally translates to breath-synchronized movement and it is cardiovascular by nature. You will be guided to move and flow connecting the postures together with the breath to create a dance-like sequence or as some have called it, a “moving meditation.”
Yin Yoga is suitable for almost all levels of students. Fundamentally it is a quiet practice where each posture is held for several minutes, targeting the connective tissues, such as ligaments, bones, and the joints of the body that are not exercised in Yang (active) asana practices. Yin Yoga stimulates the vital energy body and gives you an overall sense of well-being. Both Yin and Yang forms of exercise are necessary and supplement and compliment one another.
TRX Suspension training utilizes gravity & your own body weight to challenge your muscles and test your endurance. This class uses functional movements and balance to challenge and strengthen the stabilizing muscles in the body, while remaining suitable and accessible for all levels. This unheated class may contain mobility, cardio and strength drills to complement the TRX experience.
The kettle bell is the most effective tool for weight loss, strength gains and building cardio endurance. Learn the techniques of Kettlebell Sport movements—Swing, Clean, Press, Jerk and Snatch. The class is divided so beginners can learn the techniques while others are given 5-10 minute drills to build endurance and strength.
Only have a short time for a workout? This High-Intensity-Interval-Training (HIIT) class combines elements of velocity training with cardiovascular exercise to create POWER. Your muscles get a workout at the same time as your heart and lungs. Quick calorie expenditure plus using the body's natural range of motion makes this a VERY efficient workout. Build toward continuous movement for 20 minutes without the rest.
Using competition style kettlebells, in a heated room, this class combines the strengthening core work of Pilates with the intensity of kettlebell weight bearing exercises. The interval training will get your heart rate pumping, while the yoga adds grounding and mobility to this total body workout.
AcroYoga is a practice that blends the wisdom of yoga with basic partner acrobatics, physical conditioning, and basic thai massage techniques. The practice is inspired by AcroYoga, Circus Yoga, and the Universal Principles of Alignment from Anusara Yoga. AcroYoga is designed to increase strength, flexibility, coordination, and sensitivity in a safe and progressive way. For safety, spotters are always used in acrobatic sequences. The highest aim of AcroYoga is to create an environment that cultivates trust, connection, and playfulness. By practicing asana and partner acrobatics we prepare ourselves both physically and energetically for interacting harmoniously with others. Bring a friend or come by yourself, no partner is required.
Aerial Silks is a challenging gymnastic workout focused on the upper body and core. Learn new and diverse techniques for climbing and moving the body on vertical silks! It includes strength training, core skills and beginning level tricks (and those with experience will learn advanced moves).
